Sexy Minka Kelly of Friday Night Lights is Too Hot for Words

Oh, my. Is there any young actress in Hollywood who's as sexy and hot as Minka Kelly. Minka plays head cheerleader Lyla Garrity on the excellent high school football show Friday Night Lights, and she does it with a style and grace that take your breath away every time you see her. What follows is a look at her acting career with perhaps a few nice Minka Kelly pictures thrown in for good measure.

Minka Kelly was born on June 24, 1980, making her 29 - just a little old to play a high school student, but perhaps she was held back for a year or ten. Her mother was a Las Vegas showgirl, now deceased, and her father was famed Aerosmith guitarist Rich Dufay. Minka was estranged from her father for many years after he left her mother, but later reconciled with him.

She began her acting career slowly, with several years of landing only small guest roles on TV shows before hitting the big time with her role as cheerleader Lyla Garrity on the high school drama "Friday Night Lights", which she trained for by working out with a local high school cheerleading team.

Minka has been been praised by critics for her work on FNL, a true break out role for this lovely and talented young woman. The show was on the verge on cancellation many times, but is now entering its fourth season.

As can be well imagined, Kelly's beauty has not gone unnoticed by the male of the species. Like Jennifer Anniston and Jessica Simpson, she has been one of the many "girlfriends" of musician John Mayer. More recently, Minka has been linked to New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. It has been rumored that the two are engaged, but both have denied it. Like Mayer, Jeter has had his way with a bevy of beautiful babes. It's a shame to see a nice girl like that hook up with a player like that.

Of course, a lot of you will be interested in seeing some Minka Kelly pictures, and I wouldn't want to deny that I like to look at them too. Unfortunately, bikini photos of Miss Kelly are few and far between. Most of the existing photos of Minka Kelly are, sadly, publicity type pictures of her in sexy evening wear. I guess we'll just have to make do.

Even though Friday Night Lights may not survive much longer, particularly with high school students played by 29 year olds, I hope we'll see much more of Minka in the future. She's too talented an actress, and frankly too hot and sexy a woman not to become a major star in the future. Even if she is Derek Jeter's girlfriend, it's hard not to fall in love with such a lovely and talented young woman.
